OMG! There's a Harry Potter TV Series Coming To HBO Max!

OMG I'm dying! There's a Harry Potter TV series coming to HBO Max! No details yet on what part of the Wizarding World it will take place in.

This is a great day for me, Pop Culture Weekers. THR is reporting that Warner Brothers executives have been holding meetings to bring a Harry Potter series to HBO Max. Sources said that in these meetings they've discussed a broad range of ideas for a series taking place within the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. With over $7 billion in box office from the Harry Potter films and the two (so far) Fantastic Beasts films grossing over $1.5 billion in box office, Warner Brothers is looking to expand the franchise to streaming.

While there is no word yet on what part of the Wizarding World the series might take place in, it almost certainly won't retread any of the events we've seen in the films thus far. Fans have been discussing numerous ideas they'd like to see in a Harry Potter TV series for years including a Marauders series that would follow Harry Potters father James Potter and three of his fellow Griffyndors decades before Harry Potter was born. Another much talked about fan idea is doing a prequel series following the founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

In a world as fleshed out and rich as the Wizarding World, there are so many potential series that would be interesting for fans. With the success of Game of Thrones and multiple forthcoming spin-offs, it was only a matter of time before Warner Brothers mined the Harry Potter franchise for their streaming service. In the meantime, we have a third Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them film coming and the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will return when Broadway reopens.

So what do you think Potterheads? What do you want to see? Let's discuss it!
