The X-Files: Albuquerque Animated Spin-Off Coming to Fox

You know that The X-Files is my favorite show of all time and I've been obsessed with it since I was a kid. I literally threw a party when the revival hit in 2016, over 14 years after the original run ended. After an incredible Season 10 in 2016 and a (supposedly, but not confirmed to be the) final season in 2018, I thought the X-Files universe was done for good. But now, word is out that there is The X-Files: Albuquerque animated spin-off coming to Fox.

Variety reports that The X-Files: Albuquerque has been given a script and presentation commitment from Fox. This means that the producers will be able to write a script and give a presentation on the show to the studio before it moves to a full series. Speaking of producers, The X-Files creator Chris Carter will be executive producing, with the Paradise PD and Brickleberry duo Rocky Russo and Jeremy Sosenko attached to write and produce and be the show-runners for the series. Also back is Gabe Rotter, who was a writer on the two revival seasons.

The X-Files: Albuquerque will be a mature animated comedy that follows a team of misfit agents in Albuquerque who are tasked with investigating X-Files cases "too wacky, ridiculous or downright dopey for Mulder and Scully to deal with". Described as The X-Files B-Team, the show is not expected to feature Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.

The X-Files franchise includes the Emmy winning TV series, two movies, numerous comic books, audio books, fiction and non-fiction books and a ton of merchandise. You know I'll be bringing you every morsel of info on The X-Files: Albuquerque as it comes in.
