6 Trucks Totaled At Berks County Food Bank Due To Flooding on Sep 12, 2018 - The Greater Berks Food Bank still recovering from flooding, which left them with only 2 refrigerated trucks in their decimated fleet. PENSKE stepped up to the plate and donated a truck, thank you PENSKE! But with the holidays upon us, this situation puts a huge strain on the GBFB.
Join me, Jo Mercer, with Doug Long on Roundtable this morning, for our in-depth discussion on Food Insecurity in Berks and Schuylkill Counties.
And please, if you can donate a refrigerated truck to this 4-Star non-profit, your generosity would help serve nearly 7.3 million pounds of food to 300+ charitable food program partners: food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, after-school programs, Mobile Markets and senior housing facilities. More than 50% of the food distributed was fresh or frozen perishable foods.
