Toyota Recall

Toyota is recalling approximately 100,000 vehicles due to concerns that loose debris inside the engine could cause it to stall. The recall affects nearly 100,000 Toyota Tundra pickup trucks and about 3,500 Lexus LX SUVs from the 2022 and 2023 model years, all equipped with V35A engines.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced the recall, stating that the debris could potentially damage the engine, leading to engine knocking, rough running, or even engine failure. The manufacturing issue has been resolved in later models, but a recall is necessary for vehicles already on the road.

The NHTSA has not reported any injuries or deaths related to the defect, which was discovered through engine failure reports in March 2022. Owners of the affected vehicles will be officially notified of the recall by the end of July 2024.

The solution to the problem is not immediately clear, and it's possible that the affected vehicles may need their engines disassembled to ensure there is no debris inside them. Any necessary repairs will be carried out at no cost to the vehicle owners.
