Four Types Of 16-Ounce Wawa Milk Recalled, Potential Choking Risk

Wawa is recalling four types of 16-ounce milk products sold at its convenience stores across four Mid-Atlantic states, citing a potential choking hazard from soft plastic pieces that may be present in the bottles.

According to Daily Voice, the recall was announced on Wednesday (February 18) and covers four products: Wawa Double Dutch Chocolate Milk, Wawa Chocolate Milk, Wawa Cookies and Cream Milk, and Wawa 2% Reduced Fat Milk. All are sold in 16-ounce plastic bottles.

The affected products were sold at Wawa locations in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The recall applies to bottles with a printed date of Monday (March 2), except for the 2% Reduced Fat Milk, which carries a Thursday (March 5) date.

Wawa has already pulled the recalled products from store shelves. No other Wawa-branded products are included in the recall, and stores outside the four affected states are not impacted.

No injuries have been confirmed. Wawa addressed the situation directly, saying: "While we have received no confirmed reports of any of the soft plastic pieces being present in these products, they are being recalled out of an abundance of caution. Additionally, there have been no confirmed reports of injuries due to consumption of these products."

Customers who purchased any of the affected milk products are urged to throw them away immediately and contact the Wawa Customer Contact Center at 1-800-444-9292 or through the company's product recall page. Refunds are available in the form of a Wawa Gift Card. A full list of the Wawa store locations that sold the recalled milk is also available on the company's website.
