Tax refund starts in July
PPL customers will benefit from an even larger-than-expected refund from federal tax changes, starting July 1.
You’ll receive a monthly refund of 7.05 percent on the base distribution portion of your bill. For a typical residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours a month, that’s a savings of about $3.48 per month on their distribution charges.
You don’t need to take any action to get this savings. You’ll see it on your monthly bill, labeled as Tax Cut and Jobs Act Credit
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission had instructed us to provide a refund, and we got permission for an even larger refund. That’s more money in your pocket.
Of course, the amount of your total bill is driven by several things, including how much energy you use. If you use less energy this month, your bill will be even lower.
The first step toward saving is to visit our Energy Analyzer, which will tell you when you use the most energy at home. Once you know that, you can look for ways to save at those times.
