It seems like there is no end to phisihng scams. This email first surfaced in early 2015, but is making it rounds again with slight change of verbiage. The photo above is a screen capture from one of our employees this week and clearly plays to parents and concern for their kids.
The orginal emails a few years ago appeared to be from Family Safety Notice _ Kids *Live* Safe with a subject line " Public Notie, A Sex Offender Alert For Your Area" and contained a link to check for Child Predators in your area. That link would bounce you around through redirected sites and attempt to steal sensitve information.
The new email functions the same way, but what makes it a little more real if you aren't paying close attention and also have the Next Door App - it's easy to mistake for a Next Door Notification with the slight change to Neighborhood Alert.
