A customer's ordering mistake turned into a massive donut giveaway after an Ohio Dunkin' received an order for 6-thousand donuts instead of 60. The customer accidentally added two extra zeros while ordering chocolate-frosted donuts with sprinkles through the mobile app, and employees immediately got to work filling the enormous order.
Once the mistake was discovered, the store decided not to let all those donuts go to waste. Instead, employees began giving them away for free to customers. Word quickly spread on social media, bringing more people to the shop for an unexpected treat.
Others even helped spread the sweetness beyond the store, including a delivery driver who filled her vehicle with boxes and handed donuts out around town and to people in need. What started with an accidental tap of the zero button ended with thousands of free donuts making their way into the community.
