DDG: Mariners Fan Offers Season Ticket For Strangers To Sit With Her

A Seattle Mariners fan is using her season tickets as a way to meet new people and share game days with others. Rhenda Strub, a 70-year-old from Olympia, began following the team closely after the 2023 season and decided to attend games in person this year by purchasing two field-level season seats at T-Mobile Park. She then posted on social media offering her extra ticket at cost and inviting anyone to join her, even offering rides to the games.

The post quickly went viral and received more than 45-hundred reactions and hundreds of comments from people interested in attending games with her. One of those who responded was 83-year-old Joan Staples-Morin of Tacoma, who connected with Strub and attended a recent game alongside her. The two say they enjoyed spending time together at the ballpark and discovered they have some shared interests.

Strub says she plans to attend 65 to 70 games this season and plans to continue inviting others to join her. Staples-Morin was glad to find someone to attend games with and says she’s also been looking for companionship. Both ladies agree that they enjoy the atmosphere at the ballpark and the chance to connect with others during games.
