Last Tuesday, a four-year-old boy from Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, called 911 after his mother ate his ice cream, telling dispatchers that she was being bad and needed to go to jail. Mount Pleasant Police Officers Rachel Gardinier and Francesca Ostergaard were dispatched to the home shortly afterward and soon learned that the child was upset, but didn’t actually want his mom to go to jail.
During the visit, the boy's mother explained to the officers that he was likely reporting her for taking his dessert, as he could be heard complaining in the background. The boy confirmed that he just wanted some ice cream.
The next day, Officers Gardinier and Ostergaard returned to the boy's home with ice cream as a special treat. Mount Pleasant Police posted a now viral pic on social media showing the boy holding cups of ice cream with blue sprinkles, standing alongside the smiling officers.
