A family in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, has created a "Giving Gallery" to share their love of art and bring joy to their community. Inspired by her great-grandmother’s artistic legacy, Abigail Bradshaw and her mom, Katie Bradshaw, installed a miniature gallery filled with art created by family members and neighbors in the front yard of their home. The concept invites people to admire, take, or contribute art pieces to the collection.
In addition to original works of art, the Giving Gallery also includes free art supplies, which the Bradshaws frequently replenish, encouraging visitors to create their own pieces to share. Local artist and family friend Miles Jacobsen is one of the artists who has contributed original artwork to the gallery. Katie views the project as a way to teach her children the value of sharing and creativity. “I hope they continue sharing art, no matter where they are,” she says.
Abigail gets excited thinking about the impact of the Giving Gallery, saying, “I feel really glad that people come and get some art and put it in there.” The initiative helps to spread joy in the community by inspiring others to participate in the acts of creating and sharing art. The gallery has become a place of connection and joy for everyone in the neighborhood.
