A Virginia man received an unexpected and generous wedding gift from his father — a winning lottery ticket worth $1-million. After his April wedding, Aaron Andrews and his wife had been living in his dad’s basement while saving for their own home. His father bought a Cash4Life lottery ticket, which matched five winning numbers, and decided to give the ticket to his son as a wedding present.
The lottery ticket offered a choice between $1,000 per week for life or a one-time cash payout of $1 million, which Andrews chose. He expressed his deep gratitude to lottery officials, praising his dad for always looking out for him, and shared that he’s excited to use the money to buy a home for himself and his wife.
Andrews' father joked that giving the ticket to his son was part of his plan to get the newlyweds out of his basement so they can start their new life together. One thing is certain, the gift will definitely get the couple off to a great start.
