Last month, Cathie McCammon of Saginaw County, Michigan, experienced a life-threatening incident when she passed out due to her chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Fortunately, her dog Bentley acted quickly to get help, running to McCammon's nephew's nearby house and scratching at the door and window to alert them.
McCammon's nephew quickly realized something was wrong and brought Bentley back home, where he found McCammon unconscious on the bathroom floor. Paramedics arrived and discovered that her oxygen level was dangerously low. She spent over three weeks in the hospital but was eventually discharged on April 24th and is thankful for her survival.
The hero of the story, Bentley, has been showered with treats for coming to his owner’s rescue, and McCammon plans to reward him even more, including with several delicious steaks on the grill over the summer. She says that her health is improving and that she’s grateful to be alive.
