With burnout rates from workplace stress at an all-time high, new research reveals one way to prevent it. Psychologists from Hofstra University teamed up with Exos, a performance coaching company, on a study that finds taking short, frequent breaks for exercise, meditation and goal setting can increase “flow” - a state of consciousness with high productivity and performance. It turns out, getting into that flow state can help decrease stress and increase engagement, which helps to prevent burnout.
