Last week, someone posted on a Spring Branch, Texas, lost and found pet Facebook page about a litter of puppies on the loose in the area. The page’s owner Callie Clemens headed out to check on the pups and soon learned that they’d fallen into a storm drain.
Any ordinary person might have just thrown their hands up right then, but this wasn’t Clemens first rodeo, so she climbed down into the drain and started following the sound of the pups. Over the next few days, she spent hours in the subterranean drain system searching for the missing puppies. On the third day, she was finally able to rescue two of the terrier-mix pups.
Based on cries she can faintly hear, she believes there are two puppies still down in the drains and she’s still looking for them. When asked about her commitment to the mission, Clemens says, "I wouldn't say no, especially when you hear the cries." She’s vowed to continue the search until all the pups have been found.
