Two sisters are reunited after being separated for 75 years. Annie Ijpelaar and Sheila Anne Fry were put up for adoption at the end of WWII. Each had different mothers and their father was a Canadian soldier.
Annie ended up going to the Netherlands with her new family and Sheila stayed in the UK. Both women didn’t know about the bio families and had been trying to get answers for years. That’s where Sheila’s daughter-in-law, Karen and Annie’s son, Marc come in.
Marc reached out to Karen after finding out through his DNA test that they were related. Thanks to the women getting tested, Annie and Sheila discovered they were half sisters.
A meeting was arranged and Sheila says “We have the same hobbies, and the same medical complaints—it is very strange.” The both agree seeing each other is like looking in the mirror.
The two will have a hard time communicating since both have difficulties with technology, but they’ll make it work.
