Valentine’s Day is a holiday when some people really try to impress their dates and one New York City restaurant is giving them the perfect opportunity to do so. Serendipity3 is known for their Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, which is made from a blend of 14 cocoas and comes in flavors ranging from peanut butter to mint. But for Valentine’s Day, they’re taking that to the extreme with a blinged-out version of the desert.
Serendipity3 is teaming up with jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz for the Diamond Frrrozen Hot Chocolate. It’s like the original, but this one is bejeweled.
- The dessert comes in a Serendipity3 goblet “dripping” with Austrian crystals, which is filled with their signature cocoa drink, topped with whipped cream, sprinkled with “diamond” glitter and 23K edible gold chocolate shavings and gold straws.
- A gilded chocolate sphere that’s filled with “edible diamonds” comes on the side.
- On top of the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate is an 18k white gold diamond ring with a 0.69 carat natural fancy pink heart-shaped diamond and a 0.77 carat very light blue pear-shaped diamond with 1.15 carats of white diamond pave surrounding the larger stones.
If you’re thinking this sounds expensive, you’re right. The over-the-top diamond dessert is priced at a quarter of a million dollars ($250-thousand).
