Parents and children in Cache County, Utah are upset with the school district after being forced to end their Christmas break a day early. Children were back in school in the district yesterday even though it was a federal holiday because New Year's Day was on Sunday. The problem was complicated by the fact that Cache Valley Transit buses were not running, creating headaches for those who normally use them to get to school. The district called it an unfortunate scheduling error. Parents are calling on the district to give anyone who missed school yesterday an excused absence. Utah law allows schools to be in session on legal holidays.
