Two officers are recovering after being shot near a 4th of July celebration in Philadelphia.
The shooting happened just before 10 p.m. near the Philadelphia Museum of Art on the last day of the Wawa Welcome America festival. The fireworks were underway at the time. Crowds could be seen running from the area as officers instructed people nearby to shelter in place.
A bullet that almost struck one of the officers ended up being stopped by his hat. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw says it's too early to tell if the shots were intentional or celebratory gunfire. No arrests have been made and the officers are now out of the hospital.
