Geico is being ordered to pay over five-million-dollars to a woman who claimed she caught an STD in her ex-boyfriend's car. An arbitrator found that the couple's intercourse in his car directly caused her to get the sexually transmitted disease, and her ex-partner was found liable. However, because existing law says the insurer is responsible for bystanders, Geico was still held accountable and directed to pay the woman five-point-two-million-dollars. The insurance company has decided to contest the decision in federal court, claiming her case is not covered under her ex's policy.
