Niels van Straaten, known as @appledsign on Instagram, posted a video showing how iPhone users can track their device even if it’s turned off or in airplane mode. The video shows the simple process in full; he goes to ‘Settings” and then ‘Face ID and Passcode.” He then toggles off access to the control center and USB accessories when the phone is locked.
He says this hack will keep thieves from switching the phone to airplane mode, which is usually the first step thieves take to disconnect the phone from the internet. He also says to make sure ‘Location Services’ is always on.
