A Japanese professor has created a TV screen you can taste.
Professor Homei Miyashita, who teaches not far from Tokyo, has invented a lickable TV screen called Taste the TV, which uses ten flavor canisters to create specific food tastes.
The professor said the invention will make it possible for people to do things like eat at a restaurant on the other side of the world while staying at home.
Here’s how it works: there’s a hygienic film that samples roll on over the flat screen TV that viewers can try.
He says he built the prototype himself and created flavor related device with a team of 30 students. He notes that a commercial version would cost about $875 to make.
