Husband Gets Wrong Date On Anniversary Tattoo

We’ve heard about a lot of tattoos gone wrong, where someone had an idea of the tattoo they wanted and ended up with something else by mistake, like getting a Chinese character that means “faith” and ending up with a tattoo that translates to “dog.” And one couple who decided to get tattoos in honor of their wedding anniversary ended up with an embarrassing fail, at least as far as the husband’s ink goes.

Ashley Carlevato shared the story on TikTok, explaining that they both decided to get different tattoos in honor of each other. She got her husband’s initial, “A,” tattooed on her ring finger and he was supposed to get their wedding date on his arm. But instead of the Roman numerals for 1-1-19 representing January 1st, 2019, he ended up with ink reading “XICMXIX.” Sadly, this isn’t their anniversary, she says it’s actually 11-thousand 919.

“I knew I should have googled it for him!” Ashley captions the clip. Viewers were quick to comment about their their own tattoo fails and many admit the fear of having a memorable date inked incorrectly has kept them from getting the tattoo they want.

  • “My husband was supposed to get our wedding date tattooed (2-23-19), turns out he actually got 2-33-19,” one TikToker shares.
  • “I got my daughter’s birthdate in Roman numerals and I checked a Million times before to make sure it was correct,” another comments.
  • And another user warns against ever getting matching tattoos with your partner because it “jinxes the relationship,” they write, adding, “I know too many who have matching tattoos and are either no longer together or they argue and fight all the time.”
