A Luzerne County woman is being sentenced to prison for purposely coughing and spitting on food at a supermarket during the height of the pandemic. Officials say in March 2020, Margaret Cirko was coughing and spitting inside a Gerry's Supermarket in Hanover Township, while claiming to have COVID-19. The store had to reportedly throw out about 35-thousand-dollars' worth of merchandise because of it. Cirko pleaded guilty to her accusations as well as a felony count of making bomb threats. She was sentenced to spend one to two years in prison.
