Dixie is a 3 year old spayed female Coonhound who was surrendered because the owners lived in an apartment and felt they didn’t have enough space for her. She lived with another large female dog and was said to do well with her. She never lived with children, but the owners said that anytime a stranger would come over Dixie was very friendly and loving towards them. Dixie is said to also be housebroken. Coonhounds are hardy hounds in need of hard physical exercise, so Dixie would do best with an owner who will be able to take her hiking, jogging, swimming, etc. Dixie has a sweet temperament and is just waiting for a home to call her own! She is available for adoption from the Humane Society of Berks County.
