A couple and their dog were rescued from their remote cabin in Northern California after being snowed in for nearly two months. Last week, California Highway Patrol assisted the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office in rescuing a couple and their dog from their remote home in the Sierra Nevada mountains northeast of Eagleville, California. The couple had been stuck at the property since December 6th.
The unnamed couple attempted to leave by car, but couldn’t because of snow and downed trees blocking the road. And when they started to run out of food and supplies, they contacted the sheriff’s office for help.
Sheriff deputies also couldn’t get through the blocked roads, so they reached out to the California Highway Patrol’s Valley Division Air Operations for assistance. CHP sent a helicopter to rescue the couple.and flew them to a nearby landing zone where sheriff’s deputies transported the couple and their dog to safety.
