Daily Do Good: Texas Toddler Battling Cancer Gets Wish For White Christmas

A San Antonio, Texas, two-year-old battling terminal cancer gets his holiday wish for a white Christmas.Silas Pope and his family wished for a white Christmas and a group of volunteers are making that happen. Earlier this year, the toddler was diagnosed with a rare type of soft tissue cancer. He underwent numerous treatments, multiple surgeries, and chemo, but now the toddler is in hospice care.

So when his parents, Drew and Angela Pope reached out to B.I.G. Love Cancer Care to see if they could help make Silas’s Christmas extra special, the organization jumped into action. Jenna Painter, with B.I.G. Love Cancer Care enlisted local food truck builder Cameron Davies and his team to plan decorations, get a Christmas tree, and even have snow delivered right to the Pope’s front yard.

So Silas is getting his white Christmas and the Popes get to make a special Christmas memory with Silas and his sister Charly. “We don’t always get what we ask for, but sometimes we get things in different ways, and this is most definitely one of those things,” Angela says. “This is just really, really awesome and I'm just really thankful and grateful for everything everyone has done for our son.”
