Daily Do Good: Teen Who Walked Seven Miles To Work Daily Gifted New Car

A dedicated teenager who walked seven miles a day to get to his job after school now has his own car, thanks to the kindness of a stranger. Jayden Sutton me tLavonda Wright when he was walking down the side of the road last month and her son knew him, so she stopped to give him a ride. After learning that the high school senior from Cobb County, Georgia, made this trek daily because he can’t afford Uber rides and has to get to work, she was inspired to help.

Sutton told Wright he was hoping to buy a car one day with money he earns at work, but she decided to give him a hand. She started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the 18-year-old’s car. Donations brought in more than $6-thousand in just a few days and Myers added $635 of her own money to the pot. She was able to buy Sutton a Honda at Nalley Honda for $7-thousand, after the manager agreed to drop the price.

When she surprised him with the new set of wheels, Sutton was shocked and grateful, telling her, “I just want to thank you so much, you don’t even understand how much.” And Wright was just happy to bring some positivity to this young man. “We need more love in this world,” she says. “Hate and division has plagued this world and I’m determined to do my part, one person at a time.”
