A dog is dead and its owner is injured after a shooting in Pottsville yesterday afternoon. Police say around 1:30 p.m. yesterday near West Market and Fourth Street, Seth Howard allegedly opened fire on a pitbull multiple times, killing it, and one of those bullets struck its owner in the thigh. When authorities approached the suspect, he was taken into custody without a fight. About ten bullet casings were recovered by police. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for his gunshot wound. No word was said on why the shooting occurred, but Howard is facing charges of aggravated assault and aggravated cruelty to animals.
