A tornado tore through Tennessee on Easter, destroying Beulah Lockmiller’s Chattanooga home. Afterward, a dresser containing an irreplaceable military quilt representing her late husband, Larry’s, 30 years of service in the Army National Guard was missing. But thanks to the kindness of strangers, it has been returned.
The family searched all around to see if it had been blown nearby, but had no luck. They put out a request on Facebook and heard from a reporter who had taken a photo of the missing quilt, but when they went to the site he had seen it, it was gone. They used his photo to spread the word online and eventually, a woman and her son found it and got it back to Beulah’s family.
“This has been a little light in the darkness,” her granddaughter,Loren Lockmiller, explains. “A pleasant surprise.”
