An Indiana woman stopped to check in on her elderly neighbors and ended up saving the life of one of them. Before Amy McDonald went to the grocery store, she collected orders from older folks living near her, including Jo Trimble, 89. Trimble told McDonald she wasn’t feeling well and by the time she returned, Trimble was worse.
Despite not knowing her neighbor well and social distancing concerns, McDonald brought the groceries inside and stayed with Trimble. When she complained of chest pains, McDonald called 911. And it’s a good thing she did because Trimble was having a heart attack - one so lethal it’s called a “widowmaker.” Paramedics rushed her to the hospital and after a successful surgery, she’s now recovering.
Without her persistent neighbor, Trimble might not have made it. Her family is grateful McDonald went out of her way to look out for her and ended up saving her life.
