It’s been one crazy week for Holly McNally. The Indianapolis mom gave birth to her fourth child on Monday and was released from the hospital, while the baby had to stay behind in the NICU. And while she was on her way home from visiting her newborn there on Thursday, she saw an accident on the interstate and stopped to help.
When she got a closer look, McNally could see that a tanker truck had been carrying jet fuel had overturned and exploded and a man was coming out of the smoke. "I saw him coming out of a huge plume of smoke with fire coming off of his head and down his back," she explains.
She and another good samaritan worked to save the driver, covering him with a blanket to put out the flames. She says her maternal instinct kicked in and made her run toward danger, but Trooper Chris Hanson says she was a hero and we have to agree.
