A massive non-human mating swirl just in time for Valentine's Day is leading to the shut down of a portion of a park in Lakeland. A city parks and recreation Facebook post says the decision was made to cordon off a section of the city park due to mating snakes. The slithering, intertwined watersnakes were found doing a mating dance near a traffic roundabout the day before Valentine's Day. The snakes are a native Florida species and are non venomous.
