A couple who opened a coffee shop in Oak Grove, Oregon last year are getting a lot of support from their community as they deal with a health crisis. Dave and Tina McAdams own The Loyal Coffee Company and when he entered hospice care with terminal cancer, their loyal customers stepped up to help.
Among those offering to lend a hand is Pixie Adams, who owns her Moonlight Coffeehouse, which is only about about a mile away from Loyal Coffee. She closed her business for the day to volunteer to work for them for the day for free. And it was a record day, they raised $3,000 in sales and donations.
“I will always consider them friends more than competitors, and this is what friends do, Adams says.”
