A Utah family is devastated after a vet accidentally euthanized their dog. The Martinez family says they brought their daschund Ziggy to a Davis County animal hospital because he was experiencing breathing problems. He was left at the hospital to undergo surgery, but the family was notified that Ziggy was put down later that night. Vets told them that because of the procedure's unexpected costs and labor they called to okay the surgery or put Ziggy down. However, the animal hospital called the wrong person who ended up okaying the euthanization. It turns out there were two dogs named Ziggy being held at the hospital that night. The vet waived the bill, gifted them an urn, a plaque and a memorial Christmas ornament, but the family says they are still heartbroken.
