Students Are Turning Dog Poop Into Bricks

A bunch of eighth-graders in the Philippines are taking a constructive approach to cleaning up the streets. They're collecting dog poop from the streets of their city north of Manila and turning it into a mixture for bricks. The doggie doo-doo is mixed with an equal amount of cement powder. The kids call the result bio-bricks and say they're ideal for sidewalk pavements or small structures like backyard walls. The bricks have what's described as a faint odor but the kids say the smell will fade over time.
