A delivery driver in the U.K. saved a seven-week-old baby from a house fire while he was out making deliveries for the grocery store chain Asda. Habeel Khan, 26, was working when he saw smoke pouring from a house and stopped to help.
He asked if everyone was out of the house and a mother with two young kids yelled that her baby was still inside. Khan ran into the burning home with the mother to rescue the newborn and they all made it out safely. He stayed with the family to help calm them down until firefighters and paramedics arrived, then he carried on with his deliveries.
For his heroic actions, Khan has been named Colleagues’ Colleague of the Year at the Being Asda Awards, but he’s pretty modest about it all. “I didn’t really think anything of it,” he says. “I just thought I’d done a little good deed.”
