Daily Do Good: Mail Carrier Finds Two Missing Girls In Two Weeks

Chyanne Thomas has only been working for the Post Office in Vista, California for a year, but in that time, she’s found two missing girls in San Diego County. The cases aren’t connected and the mail carrier has been honored with two awards for her amazing work.

The first girl Thomas located was Abby, a 15-year-old girl who has autism. She found her near one of her mail delivery stops and alerted 911. And just a couple weeks after that, Thomas spotted a little girl who was alone and seemed afraid. She was three-years-old and didn’t speak English, and Thomas alerted authorities and waited with her until her mother arrived.

For her actions, Thomas was pinned by the National Association of Letter Carriers and was presented with a plaque. She says, “I love my job at the Post Office.”
