A little boy who has been cancer-free for two years wanted to celebrate his fifth birthday by doing something for other sick kids.Amy Newswangersays her son,Weston, came up with the idea to donate toys to the Pennsylvania children’s hospital where he was treated, so they turned to social media for help and created anAmazon wish listfor people to choose from.
Their toy drive was a huge success and helped the family achieve their goal of filling up their Yukon to with all kinds of gifts for the kids at Penn State Children’s Hospital in Hershey. Amy says their massive haul included 1,263 tubs of Play-Doh, 1,249 dinosaurs, and dozens of superhero action figures and was a “huge success.”
