A bar in Florida has pulled down thousands of the dollar bills that customers have put on its walls over the years and they’re now donating the money for Hurricane Dorian relief in the Bahamas. The Siesta Key Oyster Bar has collected around $15,000 for the cause and they’re not done yet.
The bar’s general manager, Kristin Hale, says staff has been working on getting the money down through all of September and it’s taken this long because the bills are attached with heavy-duty staples. She says 90% of the money is down, but they still have to get the bills hanging from the ceiling. The money may have some staple holes and Sharpie writing on it, but it’ll help the Bahamas just the same.
