40-Person Brawl at Water Park Started Over a Beach Towel

A man who tried to break up a fight at Raging Waters yesterday is in critical condition. Cal Expo police say the 40-person brawl started around 3:30 p.m. near the Lazy River picnic area when two women started arguing over who took whose beach towel. Bystander Christopher Neves tried to break up the fight, but was attacked by three other people. When police arrived, they found Neves without a pulse. CPR was administered on the scene and Neves was taken to the UC Davis Medical Center for treatment. Police did not make any arrests, but are investigating the surveillance footage. Waterpark officials decided to close the park early.
