Berks ARL Sees Recent Increase in Parvovirus Dogs

The Animal Rescue League is asking local dog owners to check their pet's medical records. The group says it has seen an increase in the number of dogs with parvovirus. Officials say eight dogs in Reading contracted the disease and two died. They say the distemper vaccine protects against parvovirus, but it only lasts one to three years.
