“Friends” is celebrating its 25th anniversary by taking a break from the small screen and going big. As in, it’s headed for theaters for the first time ever.
The sitcom, which originally aired on NBC, will show 12 episodes at more than 1,000 movie theaters across the country this year. Four remastered episodes will be shown a day on September 23rd, 28th and October 2nd to celebrate the milestone. Tickets go on sale on Friday – so far, it hasn’t been revealed which episodes will be shown.
“It is so amazing to know that the series is still bringing people of all ages together,” says Warner Bros honcho Lisa Gregorian in a statement. “We could not be more excited to deliver these remastered episodes to theaters, so our loyal fans can enjoy some of their favorite scenes in a new way.”
