A 16-year-old high school junior from Connecticut helped save his mom’s life when she went into cardiac arrest before his wrestling match. Enzo Bunce was in upstate New York for the sporting event and performed CPR on his mom, which kept her alive until first responders arrived and took over.
The teen used the skills he learned and did heart compressions to the beat of the song “Stayin’ Alive.” Officials say Enzo’s quick thinking and alertness were essential and they’re calling him a hero. He says his mom is recovering and doing well now. And after he saved her life? He wrestled five national team events with his team and won two of his matches.
