A veteran who was riding in a van as someone threw a tripod from an overpass, impaling him in the chest, is lucky to be alive. The scary incident happened in Sacramento, California and according to California Highway Patrol, the suspect stole a survey team’s tripod stand then “deliberately” threw it from the overpass, hitting the passenger in the van below.
Fortunately, the van’s driver wasn’t hurt and was able to pull over quickly and get the injured vet help right away. The unnamed man was treated at a nearby hospital and has since been released. This was a terrifying event, but if the tripod hit the man a few inches to the left or hit the driver instead, the situation could’ve been much worse. The police have a suspect in custody and are planning to charge him with attempted murder.
