Life is going to be a little easier for a 20-year-old Florida woman who is raising her five younger siblings, thanks to a brand new car that was donated to her by anonymous locals.Samantha Rodriguez, of Orange County, has been taking care of her siblings, who are between the ages of five and 16, since their parents died, but the Orange County Sheriff’s Office has been trying to lend her a hand.
It started when they surprised the family with Christmas gifts and a helicopter ride. A Facebook post about that event had community members reaching out to deputies, asking what they could do to help the family, and eventually, they raised enough money in donations to buy them a brand new Nissan Versa.
“Doing everything on my own is very hard,” Rodriguez admits. “You don’t know how much this means to us. It’s such a big help.”
