Battling cancer is never easy, especially for a six-year-old child, but one little girl is getting some extra support during her fight from her best friend.Oisin Ruskin let his BFF Lulu DeVries used electric clippers to buzz his head so he could share the same look as his friend as she undergoes treatment.
These kids from the U.K. have been close since the first day of school back in 2017 and when Lulu got sick, Oisin asked his parents what he could do to help her. The little girl has high-risk neuroblastoma and has had surgery to remove 95% of the tumor, several rounds of chemo, and is in the middle of getting immunotherapy. And her family has been fundraising to take Lulu to New York where a cancer vaccine is happening.
So to help raise money for his buddy’s treatment, Oisin said he would cut his long locks if he got 2,000 pounds, which is about $2,670. He reached the goal in just three days, so he let his bestie do the honors of shaving his head. When he saw his new ‘do in the mirror, his mom,Jo, says he told Lulu, “I look like you now.”
