Being stuck on an airplane can be a nightmare, but an Air Canada pilot knew how to keep his passengers happy when it happened: pizza. When bad weather forced a flight headed to Halifax, Nova Scotia to be diverted to New Brunswick, after a few hours, the pilot decided to order food.
Joffee Larivée,the manager at Minglers Restaurant and Pub in Oromocto, took the pilot’s call and the order and says they were “laughing all night” about the unusual order. The 23 cheese and pepperoni pies were delivered right to the door of the plane and passengers were pretty happy to have the food.
PassengerPhilomena Hughessays she credits the pilot for keeping everyone on board informed and fed. “It was something that could have been very stressful,” she says. “He made it a lot easier.”
