Last month, Cydney Cooper gave birth to twin girls, but her husband, Skyler, was deployed in Kuwait with the army and wasn’t able to return home to Kansas in time to see them born. The twins were born early, at 33 weeks, so the preemies spent 12 days in the NICU. And that’s where mom was when a nurse brought Skyler in to surprise his wife and meet his new daughters.
A family member filmed Skyler sneaking in the room, coming up behind Cydney as she was holding one of the newborns. When she realized it was her husband standing there holding flowers, she burst into tears of joy. The babies are doing fine, according to mom and even though Skyler missed their birth, she says he’s home for good now.
"1 year of crazy, 1000s of miles, 1 solo pregnancy and delivery, 48392 Skype calls, some superheroes, a few plane rides, 12 NICU days, tons of help from family and friends, and many tears later.... A soldier came home," Cydney writes on Facebook, with a video of her husband's surprise.
