A man strapped his year-old daughter into her car seat over the weekend in New Port Richey, north of Tampa. When he closed the door he realized his keys were on the front seat of the SUV and the doors were locked. The frantic dad wouldn’t afford a locksmith and decided he would break the window.
That’s when, his wife says, a sheriff’s office inmate supervisor and a group of inmates doing roadwork nearby rushed to help. One of the inmates with an appropriate “skill set” used a coat hanger to unlock the door in just a couple of minutes.
The little girl wasn't hurt and her mom wants to find out the inmates' names so she can put some money in their commissary accounts.
